Adult Bald Eagle In The Healing Cage (3/5/16)

An adult Bald Eagle has taken up residence in the Shalin Liu Healing Cage at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Come visit Summer Star to watch a live video feed from the cage!

Bald Eagle

This particular bird, likely a male, was banded as a chick in 2010. Bald Eagles don’t develop their iconic white heads until their fifth year, meaning this bird has only recently developed his full, adult plumage.

This Bald Eagle has already demonstrated strong flight capabilities in the healing cage, so it may not be long before he is released back into the wild, where breeding season is already in full swing.
