On Sunday July 9, 2017 a group of 30 people met at Summer Star Wildlife Sanctuary® to walk the trail and learn about the beavers that live along Wrack Meadow Brook. Dan Stimson, from Sudbury Valley Trustees, brought the group to one of the beaver ponds, and to the dam that they’ve constructed near our trail, to learn about the adaptations that beavers have to survive and thrive in our area. We also learned about the benefits that beaver wetlands have for other species of wildlife and natural processes in our community. You can learn about Beavers in Massachusetts at Mass Wildlife’s web site.
